Before reading, here is a preview of what's happening: Charlie starts to get really smart (like he was promised) and you see it in his writing and his treatment of other people. He becomes mean because now he thinks of everyone else (including Dr. Strauss, Dr. Nemur, and Miss Kinnian) as being dumber than him. It can be a little confusing, but follow along as best as you can.
